x7772. 12924. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} L.H. P.II. A Meeting was held in Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s Room on Thursday, 10th April, 1930, to discuss matters put forward by Cy. in Cy2/OM.8.4.30. viz :- (1) Proposed changes still outstanding for chassis, of the first order. (2) Specification of chassis for the first order. Attached to Cy2/OM.8.4.30. (mentioned above) were sheets giving Cy's personal suggestions on the two matters. The following officials were present at this Conference :- Cy. Sr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Ha. Hly. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} opened by stating that before reviewing Cy's recommendations we ought to say we were busily engaged preparing to send the first Phantom II Left Hand Chassis to France on the 22nd instant for 10,000 miles trial. Further, that we have also in hand the second chassis and they both, in the main, constitute the chassis which we are likely to, or expect to deliver in either September or October. Consequently, there is little opportunity to introduce any new items other than the agreed items. There may, naturally, be small points to alter which would be beneficial to the chassis for this country and for America, and providing the cost is agreed there will be little difficulty in these being included, but we must be emphatic in stating that in the main, the agreed items arranged at the Verrey's Conference must constitute the first 20 chassis, because we must bear in mind that if we are to deliver in October, we must order material sometime in May, so that no delay must take place in settling the two experimental chassis.
