Referring to changes, Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} thought there might be improvements both in the Right Hand and the Left Hand Chassis; we do not stand still, but these necessitate 10,000 miles testing. Consequently, it is advisable to adhere to the agreed Experimental Chassis, and that any additional improvements which Cy. or others are expecting in both chassis, should be referred for discussion between Cy. R.{Sir Henry Royce} and his Design and Experimental Staff, so that any further improvements decided upon could then be introduced as and when the parts had run 10,000 miles and approved by Standardisation Sheet.

By this method we shall obtain two results:-

Firstly - an agreed standard for the first 200 chassis for America.

Secondly - to keep on continuously further introduction of new items by continuous design and experimental work.

Cy. agreed that his documents were rather lengthy - this is owing to the numerous sections, but he thought there is nothing new in them, and the items might be useful for a Left Hand Chassis.

Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} then referred to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/4J.9.4.30. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} which pointed out that the first Left Hand Chassis (24-MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}) is being fitted up with nearly all the parts which have been agreed to in the specification for the first 200 Left Hand Chassis; the only parts not being fitted are the backing and stop-light switches, and the improved lubrication to the clutch spigot - these demand an alteration to the gearbox casing and are not yet instructed.

Srn. mentioned that they must have cars in October. In reply, Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} stated it would therefore be necessary for us to have instructions to order material in May (next month).

The first sheet attached to Cy's memo' (Cy2/Bus.4.30), already referred to at the beginning of these Minutes, is headed :-

"Specification for Chassis of first order with notes on outstanding points".

This statement deals with 9 items, as under :-

NOTE:- Cy. states :-

* 'A' signifies that item has already been agreed to as part of 200 order.
