X6016 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.7/KT. December 29th 1932. National Accumulator Co. Ltd, 50, Grosvenor Gardens, London, S.W.1. For the attention of Mr. Minchin. Dear Sirs, We regret the delay in replying to yours of the 19th inst, dealing with batteries on our 20/25 HP. chassis. We do realise that in some circumstances the half charge arrangement we are at present fitting to our 20/25 chassis, does not entirely maintain the battery charge during the winter months, and we are taking steps immediately to ascertain how we can relieve conditions somewhat, and we should be glad if you will inform your service people to report to us any failures of batteries, with the chassis no., if possible. With regard to your second paragraph we wish to strongly emphasise the fact that in no circumstances must the dynamo field resistance be short-circuited, unless the agent or customer takes full responsibility, as if the battery voltage is allowed to rise appreciably there is danger of the dynamo overheating and failing. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
