------------

We have received your letter of the 22nd inst., re fabric coupling and piston rings. These, as previously stated, have been fitted.

We have received the barrel of oil, which is now being used.

We have been advised by "BP" that the front springs have been sent off, and we are now awaiting receipt of same.

Please note that yesterday Harvey had trouble with the Tours 'octroi' people re our sand ballast bags. He refused their demands for money for same, and turned back. The 'octroi' authorities have taken the number of the car, and possibly we may hear further of this. we shall, for the time being, leave Tours out of our daily runs. By doing this it means that we have very much worse roads to run over, and our average speed will suffer by this.

G.W. Hancock.
