[Handwritten] RB{R. Bowen}/LID{A. J. Lidsey} [Handwritten] For your comments please [Handwritten] BY/LSL x 993 S/W. re- Bentley. The appearance of the hand operated tyre pump has been very severely criticised as being something entirely unworthy of the car. This is largely caused, I find, by the spring clips which hold the pump in position taking all the enamel off the barrel each time it is removed from the holders. I have shown the pump to C. and we are agreed that the criticism is perhaps justified. Furthermore the very insignificant form of foot bracket to keep the pump on the ground while operating it again looks very cheap and not nearly good enough. I believe we are right in saying that you have selected this pump because it functions well and because of its light weight. Would it be possible at a very small extra expense to supply this pump with a nickel or chromium plated barrel and a better type of foot bracket, something which perhaps folds up and does not look so cheap ? We shall be glad if you will kindly give this matter your attention. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} | ||
