In accordance with Mr. Elliott's E1/G9.3.21 we have laid out a scheme of Front Shock Absorber for Goshawk 1 and Goshawk 11. Goshawk 1 is shewn on N.sch.830. The difference is in the length of the connecting rod, and in the method of attaching the ball end to the front axle. In Goshawk 1 there is already an existing axle without a boss on, and therefore we thought that the original method of holding this ball end would have to be used. N.sch.830 for Goshawk 11, shews the ball end fitting to a boss on the front axle, in accordance with Mr. Elliott's instructions.

On account of the shape of the top flange of the front axle, it is not possible to save room by making the connecting rod upright, the least room being occupied with a slight slope, as indicated on the drawing.

X.4337. Possibly a lubrication system similar to the "Alemite" might be adopted, and we have shewn such a lubricator on the ball end at Fig.2, and a proposal for a lubricator on the connecting rod itself, if found necessary, on Fig 3.

The connecting tube is based on Mr. Elliott's instruction for a new connecting tube for the 40/50, which is sent under another note.
