PHANTOM III - 3 - 8. (contd) at 100 chassis earlier than previously legislated for. 9. Battery Charging Many points were discussed and mentioned under this heading. Summarising the matter By referred to the availability at a later date of a new regulator and modified armature, and in the interim to the use temporarily of a larger regulator for dealing with this question. By also said that if a proper rate was provided of an 85 ampere hour battery should be sufficient. The use of 48 watt bulbs instead of 60 watt would help this matter, and it was agreed that this change of lamps should be effected as soon as possible on all cars, the present 25/30 h.p. excepted as these do not come within that category. Information was required as to when the new regulator and modified armature can be brought in on production, and what stocks of existing types are available. By was asked to write a memo dealing fully with this matter and placing on record all the information he gave at the meeting. 10. Grooving of Thermoid Clutch Liners Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} reported that the cause of the trouble in the case he was asked to investigate was due to the gearbox stay not being properly secured. He is still looking out for a bad example of clutch but it is believed that this is not now so likely to arise seeing that the cause of the previous complaint was not due to any fault in the clutch. 11. P.III Clutch The introduction of the heavier flywheel combined with a less expensive four finger clutch at the IOIst in "D" was referred to, and it was agreed that a standardisation sheet should be put into circulation for this modification. 12. Exhaust System It was agreed that material for the second half of "D" series should be ordered of the type recommended, i.e. Aluminised mild steel. | ||
