X3060 File Report on Experimental Rockers to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1240 These rockers were instructed by F.J. Hardy and designed to cause the valve to be concentric with its guide & seat when seating (instead of pushed over to one side as in the case of the standard rocker), thus eliminating the clicking caused by the valve pulling into its true seat. The rockers & the valve extensions necessary were fitted in place of exhaust rockers on 20EX car and was run for approximately 100 miles on the road at high engine revolutions – a slight improvement in the clicking noise was obtained, but the improvement was insufficient to justify the use of this type of rocker. b S Steadman 30/1/24 | ||
