X411 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c.c. to RUC c.c. to BY/Ogh BY/CS10/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}22.11.28. Re "S.S." Timing Gear Lubrication. With reference to memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG.12.11.28, re reducing the nozzle of the oil pipe (Timing Gears) to avoid excessive oil spray and consequent oil leakage at the back of the fan pulley. We presume this will not now be necessary with the adoption of the modified standard Phantom Spring Drive, which has a definite oil retaining feature at this point, and the pipe as instructed is only the same size as present production - therefore have not modified the pipe referred to (E.77776), for the present.
