With regard to the brakes on this car, their functioning is identical with what is being sold to the customer to-day. The only obsolete feature is one connected with the difficulty of the removal of the rear brake shoes, but this has no effect on the operation of the brakes. We think it should be borne in mind that 34-EX is very overloaded.

The rear shock absorbers about which Mr. Symons complains are also production parts. They will not have the latest diamond boring of the bushes mentioned in the memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.17/JH.13.3.37.
