-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Mths.{Reg Matthews}1/KW.11.9.36. With regard to the weight of pistons, the writer has checked over some of these on production and they are now 18.9 to 19.1 ozs. Where the piston that weighed 19 1/4 ozs. came from we cannot say, but it is certain that at one time pistons were coming in over weight. We are returning two of the individually cast rings in which the gap is excessive and from the look of them they appear to have broken through the oil film, at any rate they are scored badly but you might be able to tell us more about them when you have seen them. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. Attached: Our drawings E.88333/4. | ||
