(This supersedes Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}1/R.8.11.37. which should be scrapped) P.III. CLUTCH. (1) The supply of clutch plates from Borg & Beck is now satisfactory. (2) OIL CONSUMPTION. A standardisation Sheet of the new type for non-hydraulic tappets has left the Engineering Dept. for costing and production comments. This sheet standardises the cylinder head tested in France Z.88758 and not the one with increased water ways. (3) 32-EX. Standardisation sheets are in circulation for:- (a) Overdrive gearbox. (b) Solid rocker gears. (c) Palmetto Water Pump gland. (d) Cheapened front wing fixing. (e) Hardened washer for pinion brg. (f) Adjustable bearings for radiator shutters. (g) Large tube front dampers to reduce noise. (h) A few other small modifications to reduce cost. (4) FUSES. Holders for the new open type fuse will be available in five weeks.
