REMARKS.

(5) BEARINGS.

The labour involved in fitting Hall's metal big-ends to a customer's car is about £15. RMC. has cost figures for introducing these big-ends on production.

(6) OIL COOLERS.

Tests have shown no disadvantage in warming up noise of solid tappets without an oil cooler. 39-EX is so arranged for endurance running.

(7) FUEL CONSUMPTION.

An improvement has been made experimentally to reduce the petrol consumption. Modifications to the carburetter have also been tried to improve the get-away with a cold engine.

(8) SYNCHROMESH.

Improved operation becomes standard at 101 in 'D' Series.

(9) BRAKES.

The percentages of front braking have been sent to Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} under Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}8/JH.30.10.37. For £7 scrap the reduced rear braking can be brought in at 'D' Series. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} can absorb 100 sets of the present linings so as to get Mh.{M. Huckerby} on production also at 'D' Series. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has agreed to the brake lever and also 50 sets of lining going to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}

(10) ENGINE COUPLING.

For £21 scrap the more flexible coupling can be brought in at 'D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}' Series. LA.{L. A. Archer} recommends this. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} & Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} agreed to this.
