Standardisation and modifications for a battery ignition distributor head and base.

X8691 Re. standardisation sheet X.No.8691. for modified distributor head and base to LeC. 2121. and D.71005/6., the LeC. drawing shews the following mod-ifications:- (1) 2 gauze covered windows in moulding. (2) A ventilation hole in floor of distributor opposite contact points. (3) A sliding sleeve on the drive shaft running in an oil well. (4) An oil trap in the governor casing and running plain fit where shaft passes out at bottom. Items (3) and (4) are alternative to each other; both are not wanted. We should be interested to know which of the latter is being adopted, and what modifications are included in the other drawings quoted - e.g. D.71005/6.
