Referring to your letter of yesterday, and to your conversation with our Draughtsman, we confirm that - (1) We do not think that a windscreen in one piece (hinged at the top or 2/5ths down) would be satisfactory. In our opinion there would be a serious risk of breakage owing to whip (vertically and laterally). (2) If the only reason for making the windscreen to open is to give the driver a clear view during fog, we suggest a vertical centre pillar; the nearside glass to be fixed and the offside to swing outward.
