117-MC - GEOFFREY SUMMERS ESQ.

With reference to the complaints on the above car, there are no designs available which provide a more rigid steering support for the steering. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}: may have heard that there is an experiment on the way, but this means very drastic alterations to the chassis. We know of nothing which can be done to Mr. Summers car.

With regard to the extra friction on the front pivots. We are not recommending any extra friction when the new steering is fitted and owing to the increased irreversibility of the steering worm, we should anticipate that any extra friction will prevent the steering self-centering. We do not recommend we should make Mr. Summers car any different in this respect to standard.

Front shock absorbers. The only alteration we recommend to the front shock absorbers is that they should be adjusted to 50 lbs. The Expl: Dept: will let the R.D. have the necessary parts so that this can be done on the existing shock absorbers.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}:
