Faulty Dynamos Ex Chassis 3-BU-32, 3-AX-122, 3-BU-84.

The symptoms shown on these dynamos suggest that all have been running in a condition to cause excessive sparking, either by :-

(a) Night driving at high speeds, maximum output required from dynamos.

or

(b) Regulator failure in which the regulator fails to reduce the dynamo output as the battery volts rise.

Since the depot did not remove the regulators, we can only assume the cause to be (a), the remedy for which is a dynamo armature which gives a smaller voltage difference between commutator bars. Such an armature is available and has been tested. It will however, be more costly.
