600 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}6/JH.28.10.38. Wraith car 25.G.VI. We are proposing to put the above car in the fitting shop on Monday next for the following work to be done. (1) Fit flexible flywheel as per Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler}1/JH.11.10.38. (2) Fit Thermoid clutch lining. (3) Examine gear box for cause of oil leak into clutch pit, this gear box has already been pulled down 3 times for this particular oil leak, and we suggest that it might be run on a rig using hot oil to see where it does actually come from. It may be a crack which is only visual when the box is hot. (4) Fit standard front engine mounting previously removed from this car. (5) Examine rear axle for periods on overun at 50 - 44 M.P.H, 34 - 30 M.P.H. and 24 - 20 m.p.h. These gears were very good when first fitted, but have deteriorated rapidly, and as these are not the first pair of gears to have done the same thing on this car we suggest an examination of the diff. casing for alignment. (6) Fit graphite wedges to rear brake shoes similar to those fitted on 27.G.VI Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} will supply the graphite. (7) Strip and examine servo linings for oil. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} | ||
