600 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rml/R.24.10.38. 25.G.VI. 23 gallons of petrol were added to this car. I should like to know the petrol consumption as this seems to be slightly better than previously. The clutch now jaggers unpleasantly on reverse when the car is thorough-ly warm, and also on the forward. The jagger does not shake the car to pieces, but it is so bad that it must be investigated. The idling of the car has deteriorated, and is not up to standard. I should like to know what is the cause of this. Prop. shaft period came up between 40 and 50 m.p.h. Has this car got the correct angle of propeller shaft drive ? The brakes squeak slightly. I should like to know whether it is the front or back brakes. I should like to try this car with increased diameter of front roll rod. A piston squawk came up when the car was started up on 24.10.38. I thought I heard the back axle on more than one occasion. The oil consumption seems to be remarkably good. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
