X4706 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E/PSN. c. LR.{Mr Ellor} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} E/PSN.2/HP.17.4.34. Ramp Head Single Cylinder Car Engine test unit. We send you herewith a print of LeC.3879 showing modified valves for the ramp head on this unit. The first modification which has already been instructed on LeC.3868 is a larger exhaust valve with the present sized inlet valve. When tests have been concluded on this combination of valves the 1.3 diameter valve seat should be fitted to the inlet valve. This seat can later be machined out to accommodate a 1.4 diameter valve. The performance of the engine with these various combinations of valve sizes should give some very useful information on the effect of valve size on performance and detonation. E/PSN. | ||
