-6- (10) GENERAL EQUIPMENT. For a car to run in America, bumpers and an interior heater are a necessity. (11) CARBURETION. On the whole, once the car had been started it ran as well under zero conditions on American petrol as under English conditions. The S.U's require rather more engine speed for starting than the American automatic choke carburetters which, at zero, will function at 30 R.P.M. However, if we get our flywheel reduction ratio down to 18-1 we ought to be reasonably satisfactory on S.A.E.10.W. oil. Unfortunately there is no cold room that we know of available that will enable us to reproduce these conditions in England. HA/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
