E.W. Hines,Esq.,

We have a French Depot, but do you not think it would be better for us to supply say eight more spares to your Paris Showrooms where you can draw on same should you require them at 40% off list and at the end of your trial if you have not used them, we would be agreeable to you sending them back to us, when we would credit your account with same ? If your trials are to be held down on the Riviera, we can send the spares you require there or to any other place suitable to your goodselves. From reports which have reached us from many users of your cars and other high horse power makes, we understand that the average life of well-known makes of tyres in France is 4-5,000 miles and as your trials are to be run at high speeds, it does not look as though even our double treads will give you 10,000 miles.

Whilst on this subject of supplying tyres for your cars, Mr. Hines, I should be most grateful if you would inform your Buyer that this Company would be prepared when next you consider standardisation, to supply double or single tread Rapson tyres at 40% off list price, with a definite guarantee that each and every tyre supplied will give a minimum of 10,000 miles running. Whether you prefer the single or double treads, it would make no difference, as we would put the same depth of tread rubber in this case, in either type and only charge you at our single tread list price, as we are doing in the present instance in supplying you with four spares.

Yours faithfully,
RAPSON TYRE AND JACK COMPANY,LTD.,
F.{Mr Friese} Lionel Rapson,
Managing Director.

P.S. Our very best trade terms hitherto, viz, to Factors or to manufacturers, have been 30% off list price.

This letter was dictated by
Mr. Rapson.
