X5410. PN.{Mr Northey}12/WT17.9.31. S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}..from PN.{Mr Northey} Copy to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 19-G4. In the report after a mileage of 8,987 has been run, the following occurs :- "Springing. The car holds the road well at all speeds, settles down immediately after passing over ridges and does not throw passengers off seat". This is a very strong statement indicating the effectiveness of damping. As we are receiving, and likely to get more and more enquiries in respect of additional damping for the 25 H.P., as the speeds get higher, or the cars are used in France, it would be interesting to hear whether you consider the damping and springing control on 19-G4 to be suitable for high speed running on bad roads, such as owners of the Cholmondeley persuasion might require, without justifying the consideration of Hartfords, either single or double.
