To PN.{Mr Northey} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} X5410. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/AM.8.9.31. 19-GIV. SPRINGS. Replying to PN{Mr Northey}12/WT17.9.31. At the present time we are in a position to practically guarantee satisfaction to any customers special requirements on springing as long as we know what those requirements are. We are no nearer, however, being able to supply a car to give the best ride as a town carriage and to give the maximum road holding ability at high speeds with the same springs and shock absorbers. If Lord Cholmondeley's requirements are for high speed work then we can satisfy him without fitting additional Hartfords. This problem simply comes back to the position which we wrote on some time ago i.e. that there should be some-one in London who should get to know the customers' requirements and then the car can be sprung to suit those requirements.
