Re 20 HP. Chassis No. GFK-30. X.4357.

The following is a copy of letter received from Messrs. W. Watson & Co. of Liverpool :-

"After the above car had run approximately 2,000 miles, we found the platinum points badly burnt. These were replaced, and, suspecting the condenser to be the cause of the trouble, a new condenser was fitted.

The car has now done 4,600 miles and it has again been found necessary to replace the platinum points owing to their burning badly.

We should be obliged if you could help us to trace the cause of this defect, and are enclosing one of the points taken out of the contact breaker on the last occasion."

You will notice that the two sets of platinum points appear to have lasted for 2000 and 2600 miles respectively, and that a new condenser was fitted at the same time as the second platinum points.

We should be glad to have your remarks on this matter, as the burning of platinum points on 20 HP. cars continues to be rather frequent, and we have had a number of cases lately of recent cars fitted with the latest type of condenser.

GFK-30 was delivered Sept. 1924.

The platinum pointed screw is attached to BY's copy.
