CONDENSER NO. MO.55 EX CHASSIS 55 RF.
The condenser was unwound in the laboratory to ascertain the cause of breakdown.
A puncture of the oil paper insulation was discovered at the point where the sheet tin connectors are inserted.
Apparently a small particle of foreign matter was introduced with the connector which during subsequent compression partially penetrated the oil paper and led to the failure.
