(27) For such competitors no checking will be carried out if the fines imposed are not paid. The various checking, weighing and marking operations required by the present regulations will be carried out on Tuesday 13th. and Wednesday 14th. June between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. (legal time), at the Halle aux Toiles, at Le Mans. The time for presenting each car will be fixed later and notified to the competitors by the Automobile-Club de l'Ouest. The presence of the two drivers and the assistant is indispensable. The absence of one or both drivers or of the assistant will entail a fine of Frs 100 per person absent. No driver or assistant is allowed to be represented by another person provided with a power of attorney even if that instrument is drawn up by a solicitor. Any car presented late by the competitor or its two drivers (whose presence is compulsory as well as that of their assistant) will remain at the disposal of the Stewards as long as the latter deem necessary so that it may, if practicable, be examined outside of the regulation hours provided for the various operations. In addition, the competitor will be fined Frs 250. On Wednesday 14th. June the checking control will be finally closed at 4 p.m. Competitors will be granted an allowance of one hour extra subject to a fine of Fcs 500. Under such conditions the exceptional closing of the checking control may be retarded till 5 p.m. After this time no more cars will be examined. The official time for the weighing-in, as well as for the start will be the legal time (Paris Summer time which is one hour fast on Greenwich time). The race Stewards will be seconded by assistant Stewards and by a staff of seal affixers who are strictly forbidden to smoke when acting in the discharge of their respective offices. Cars must come to the weighing-in enclosure and leave under their own power. It should be explicitely stated here that the checking of vehicles does not imply, ipso facto, that the cars and drivers are thereby qualified. Qualification will only be obtained after expiry of the time allowed for the putting in of claims (art. 53) and, subsequently, when the race Stewards have taken a decision in respect of objections made or in cases when they have considered it desirable to taken action on their own account. SECTION VI FORMALITIES AT THE START BEFORE THE START Art. 38. - Competitors must be at their pits, opposite the Grand Stand, at latest, on Saturday 17th.
