Tail & Stop Lamp.

The position of the tail lamp is such that it is frequently hit by stones which causes bulb failure.

Battery.

The case shows signs of distortion and at each end it has separated from the seal at the top of the cell leaving sufficient room for water and dirt to enter.

BODY WORK. Thrupp & Maberly.

The locking device for the partition is not sufficiently positive, and they tend to slide due to the motion of the car. The occasional seats rattle on the retaining clips. There are slight leaks round the windscreen frame, & the polish has peeled off the filets at these points. The rear floor-boards are not a good fit and would seem to have shrunk with the heat. The sharp corners of the door locating wedges are liable to catch ones thumb when opening the doors from inside. They are also liable to tear clothes when getting out. There is no apparent reason why they should not be rounded off. The chromium plate has rubbed off the wedges and they are in such a position, that if they are lubricated at all, ones clothes are certain to be soiled when getting in and out.

The N.W. door locating wedge has come loose at the point of attachment to the door pillar, & two of the wood screws fixing it no longer hold in their threads. There are some thumps and rattles from both front doors, but the worst feature is the sticking of the doors. It is sometimes impossible to open the offside rear door at all. If the car is jacked up under the chassis half way along, the doors are released and open and close easily; the fact is that the removal of the tie-rods has left the frame with insufficient stiffness to support the body. This has also led to cracks in the valances at the bottom of all the doorways & at the rear top corners of the front doors. It also allows excessive movement in the scuttle, and various creaks and rattles have developed here. The body is otherwise commendably quiet and has stood up exceptionally well to the continued speed over rough roads.

The front wings have cracked away at the rear edges and from the valances, but otherwise the wings have stood up well. The lower front extensions of the rear wings have been bent & perforated by stones, where they project below the running boards, & the rear outer edges have also been pitted by stones.

It would be an advantage if some form of damping could be devised for the rear seat cushion springs. The front seats are only suitable for small men. a tall man cannot sit in the seat without his knees fouling somewhere, and getting in and out by the O.S.F. door is an acrobatic feat.

There is no locking arrangement for the sun visors and these tend to shake down into the line of vision.
