shall take advantage of this if we can suitably fix it up. They have also agreed to lend us an instrument for a week and the writer proposes bringing it to Derby when next he comes up.

Our general impression is that such an instrument would be useful to you in measuring the noise emitted by any mechanism, but we are not sure yet whether it is entirely suitable for measuring the noise which we get in motorcar bodies.
