SPEEDOMETERS FOR RR. and BENTLEY CHASSIS WITH LARGER TRIP FIGURES.

With reference to Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}11/Kh. 21.2.35. and dealing in the first place with Mr. Buckland's suggestion in the fourth paragraph of your memo, we do not consider it advisable to omit the glass in the speedometer, as this is part of the illumination scheme, and in view of the numerous difficulties we strongly recommend that we get Smiths to introduce the larger trip figures and the instruments with concave lighting at the same time.

In reply to the last paragraph of your memo, all instruments for concave lighting will have concave dials.

Messrs. Smiths promised to send a set of instruments with concave lighting on Wednesday, but up to the time of writing we have not yet received them. The last message we had from Smiths was they would be sent by passenger train today, and we are expecting to receive a telegram from them to this effect.

Immediately after receipt of these instruments we will have same erected in a panel, and after they have been examined by those concerned at this end it is proposed that Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. should take them to Sales Department, and so far as our information goes at present we think this visit will take place on Wednesday next.

BY/Cgh.{W Clough}

P.S. Since writing the above we have word from Smiths that the instruments were despatched last evening, so that we should receive them this morning.
