To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re 12-Cylinder Packard.

I attach copy of letter received from Mr.Leonard Williams.

I fancy you rather expected that the factory would deny that they were going to produce this car with independent front springing.

I should be glad if you would let me know for certain.

You might let me know whether it is felt by E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and yourself that, if they are not going to produce it within a reasonable time, we do not want a 12-cylinder Packard, but if they are, we do.

I raise the point because I have heard from more than one source that the 12-cylinder Packard is the best of its kind.

If we really want it, independent front springing or not, we ought to make up our minds the latest date by which it would be of any value to us and that date must settle the question of whether or not we have it with independent front springing.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}
