812-82. Expl. Dept. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}9/MJ. 9th. December 1932. The Anglo American Oil Co. Ltd., 26, Queen Anne's Gate, Westminster, LONDON.S.W.1. For the attention of Mr. Paul. Dear Mr. Paul, We have sent an order through to your people for 150 gallons of petrol, to have a knock rating of 80 Octane. We have heard that there is a possibility in the future of the Ministry adopting a fuel to this specification. I dare say you know more about this than we do. At the moment we are developing new engines which may not come into production for a year or eighteen months and we want to anticipate the results we are likely to get with improved fuels. We would welcome your comments on this point. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
