Origin. These filters are considered unnecessary since the adoption of the Enoto filter.
Experimental Test Report. It is generally almost impossible to remove filters from car fitted with the large ty-pe of body with covered in rear portion. We have never heard of a case where the rear filters have been found stopped up with foreign matter.
Road Test Report. 13,000 miles have been completed on Exptl. Peregrine and J.3 cars with no petrol tank filters. No trouble has been experienced.

R.{Sir Henry Royce} | 13.12.32. | Agreed FHR. | assuming Enot filter comes before petrol pump or autovac, if these filters (or strainers) never block they do not require cleaning, i.e. they may clean themselves after doing duty of keeping something out of the feed pipes. My own experience is that we have been remarkably free from stops on the road: by blocked pipes, cocks, valves, autovac and other fittings not protected by the real fine mesh filter of the Enoto type.
