Dear Mr.Beaver,

I duly received copy of your letter to Mr.Wormald of August 29th and was delighted to note the appreciative remarks that you were able to make after a 200 mile run on 20/25 HP car No. GLR-57.

I have, as you know, felt and stated several times both verbally and in writing that I considered there was a market in America for the 20/25, and it was with a view to testing whether this was correct or not that arrangements were made for two cars to be sent out for propaganda purposes.

I understand that one of these cars has already been shipped and that the other will probably be shipped next week.

Dealing with the question of price I cannot understand why, in taking the English selling price at £1850, you then say that the price in America would have to be £2600.

It would appear that you have arrived at this price by adding 33 & 1/3% to the full retail price and then added charges for packing, shipping, etc., but even if such is not the case, it seems as though you had overlooked the fact that, when I was in America and with you and Mr.Fuller at Springfield, I quoted you a special nett price for a batch of 20/25 chassis, and if you will refer to the memorandum of conference held at Springfield on June 10th, which you had typed out, you will find that on the basis of £840, which I quoted you for the chassis, you worked
