Mr.Hives. X 1069 Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/GEA20/DK.31.10.19. We have received an account for 30/- from A.R.Atkey & Co, Ltd., Derby., for One Motor Horn in which it is stated "E.Hives signs". From this it would appear that you personally purchased this horn from them on October 14th. Is this for your own private account or is same charged to the Company? If the latter is the case Mr.Whitehead points out that he should be informed when such purchases are made, so that records may be kept in order. In fact Mr.De Looze has received many complaints recently from the Accounts Dept. that they are receiving invoices for goods for which no orders have been sent to suppliers, and in consequence they are unable to pass their accounts for payment. You will realize that it is impossible for records to be correctly kept if anyone outside Mr.Whitehead's Department is allowed to make purchases on behalf of this Company.
