To BJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} +3430 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG25.9.25. 'PHANTOM' EXHAUST SYSTEM. V8230 BJ5/H24.9.25. The position of the silencer is - we have reported to R.q that we are now waitingfor a design from WW. The silencers we have produced experimentally had never been approved by R.{Sir Henry Royce} This matter was briefly discussed when we were at WW. We all agreed that we should like to obtain silencer and less loss in power, but you will see from our figures that the percentage loss at 2000 revs. is no greater than the loss which is on all Silver Ghost cars. We would have liked Sales to have reported on the difference in performance of the car due to the exhaust system. This, as we have pointed out, can easily be measured by running over a course with the cutout open and closed. After all, what really matters is the loss in max performance. If Sales are desirous of having this silencer as standard, we recommend that this information is passed on to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
