E/Ltd. E/EW. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} E.1/HP.28.5.37. Sessions Jack Pumps - Phantom III. I do not see any reason why we should not use the standard Sessions jack pumps with back plate as supplied by them. This scheme will save both weight and cost. Without it we shall not get the full advantage of the reduction on the jacking system from £10.10.0 to £8.0.0. We require a new mounting bracket as shewn on LeC. 5650, but these parts are not yet ordered for Phantom III "D" Series, and hence there is no difficulty in this connection. At the same time in introducing the standard D.W.S. pump we tip the pump slightly on the mounting and thereby avoid calling for a special angle of key-way for the handle socket on the pump spindle, and the same feature facilitates the fitting of the standard D.W.S. pump cover in the floorboards, shewn on LeC.5651. The D.W.S. pump cover is included in the new price quoted for the jacking system, and we should like to test it as soon as possible. We have pro tem shewn the floorboards unaltered on LeC.5650 for "D" series. We should be glad if BY would obtain as soon as possible particulars of the tapping in the D.W.S. pump lid{A. J. Lidsey}, that is, the number of threads & depth of tapping. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
