In addition of course there were the usual fitting jobs connected with a new body and wings, such as fitting of the bonnet, petrol filler and lamps etc.

Whilst we agree that some of these jobs are unavoidable, the fact remains that we are not able to get on with our own work for a considerable time after receiving a car from the fitting shop, because of its incomplete state and the number of people who follow the car into the garage to "finish off". As a matter of fact on 29.G.VI particularly there were 8 fitters and electricians around the car from 8-0 a.m. Tuesday morning until Wednesday mid-day and 3 or 4 for the rest of the week, and at the time of writing, i.e. 9-15 am. Monday morning there is still a man working on controls. We shall welcome your co-operation in avoiding these troubles on our next car received.
