Na {Mr Nadin} 6/S2115. for Dept. A short time ago you were asking for a quantity of de-natured alcohol for use in connection with some experiments on anti-freezing mixture. Apparently de-natured alcohol can be obtained in two forms. The first of these is methylated spirit of which we usually keep a stock. The other form is termed industrial spirit, and can only be used and obtained with the permission of one of the Exise Officers. The difference between the two spirits is very trifling, and as far as our experiments are concerned, I do not think there is any reason why ordinary methylated spirits will not serve our purpose. If after testing, this material is found to be unsatisfactory we will endeavour to obtain a quantity of the industrial quality of spirit.
