With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/LG81222., I cannot believe one box will crack during EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s test, and another stand thousands of rough jerks such as we had before the safety spring buffers were correctly arranged.
.005" was not enough for the oversized tube. The broken one I saw might have been anything up to .020" oversize. It was just tube as drawn, forced into a machined hole.
With modified fixing, continue to use aluminium box, and we will give connecting link freedom to move round it's attachment at each end. Do you then think this method of carrying the box better than our standard which shews signs of distress on the road, and does not stand bumping test.
