X 2515 O.O. from By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Ck.{Mr Clark} c. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to "F" Dept. By2/P6.2.20. X.3749. - CHASSIS - INSTRUMENT BOARD. SWITCHBOX - RE FUSE WIRE. x.2515 Referring to my memo By14/H23.1.20, in which I asked you to place on order ¼ lb. of the above fuse wire for use in the Test Department, please note that the wire we require is the new tin lead alloy, of which Messrs. Lucas supplied us some samples recently. I am attaching herewith a sample piece of the wire, so that there shall be no doubt at all in regard to the type of wire required. In view of the fact that considerably more of this wire, will be required than I imagined originally, as we propose to replace the small section copper fuse wire by this later type, I consider that we should order up four reels of 30 SWG lead tin alloy fuse wire, as per samples herewith. The O.O. should instruct Messrs. Lucas that all future Switchboxes must be supplied with the 30 SWG lead tin alloy fuse wire, which we ordered as above. The D.O. should add a note to the Instrument Boarddrawing against the Lucas switchbox stating that 30 SWG lead tin alloy should be used for the Field Coil Fuse, which will "blow" at 4.125 to 5 amperes.
