X205 To BY from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.5/HP.1.9.33. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Stv. Hv. Bentley Bonnet. It was agreed that the last two louvres in the Bentley bonnet would be washed out where the louvres overlap the rear bonnet rest, so that there will be no difficulty with regard to adopting the Rolls-Royce type of louvre. A decision with regard to the appearance of this was based on an inspection of the blue Bentley in the Experimental Department, the bonnet of which has 26 louvres. We find on referring to the last bonnet arrangement drawing EB.87 that two further louvres have been added at the rear, making 28 in all, and 4 overlapping the rear bonnet rest. This will mean that there will be 4 louvres to work out instead of 2 with this type of bonnet, leaving the total number 24 as agreed. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
