The Ransome & Marles Bearing Co.Ltd.,
Newark-on-Trent.

Dear Hickling,

We want to try some self-lubricating clutch thrust bearings on our Bentley chassis. The bearing we at present use is a Hoffmann XLS. 1 1/4. Could you therefore send us 3 bearings of this size but fitted with oilite cages.

The little pilot bearings with an oilite cage which you supplied some time ago ran 20,000 miles in France without giving any trouble.

Yours sincerely,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
