Sir Henry Segrave,
148, Leadenhall Street,
E.C. 3

Sir,

re 40/50 H.P. Chassis No. 80-WJ

We very much regret to observe from your letter of the 25th inst. that a leak from the nearside rear hub of your Rolls-Royce car still exists after the attention which was given to it here on the 22nd inst.

The examination which we made did not reveal any mechanical source of trouble. We found an accumulation of oil in the nearside rear hub and could only assume that surplus oil from the rear axle had worked along the axle tube. All the parts were carefully washed out and re-assembled.

We should like to express our regret for the fact that this did not remedy the leak and are, as requested by you, advising our Derby Works about it.

We are, Sir,
Yours faithfully,
for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.

London Repair Department.
