I feel convinced that a wrong
impression exists as to
my attitude in this matter.
restive, I am very anxious
to remove it. (how comes?)
Your Directors may think
me lacking in appreciation
of the great amount of expense
they have necessarily been
put to, and that I am not grateful
for the consideration they have
shewn? Please assure them
this is far from being so,
and that I fully recognise
that since the date of the
diaster, nothing could have
exceeded the kindness and
condolence which has been
extended to me personally,
as exemplified in the sending
of a car for members of
the family to visit Wadhurst,
the sympathetic
& kind reception on arrival.
