To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/KW. 4.2.35. Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}'s Car - 4-B-IV. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} has now left his car with us for a week. We want to fit the following parts to it :- (1) Lead bronze big end bearings. (2) Helical gear oil pump. Steel oil feed stud on the timing case. (3) Latest servo modifications as on 21-G-IV. (4) Anti synchromesh rattle pieces in the gearbox. (5) Cantilever pedals to N.Sch.4156 modified to GL.{G. Linnett}760. (6) The clutch which has just been standardised on the Bentley i.e. identical with 21-G-IV. You promised one of these clutches for Tuesday. (7) Modified brake leverages as per memo. attached. (8) Improved water excluders to scheme N.S.4348. (9) Rubber rear engine mounting. (10) Isolated gear lever parts as removed from the streamlined car. Please ensure that the pendulum lever is a good fit in the selector and radiussed as shown on N.Sch.4355. (11) Front brake liners to be eased off at the extremities of the shoes as instructed by Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} (12) New pivot pins to be fitted. (13) We understand that this is a 4° transverse lean front axle, in which case we should like a standard axle of the strengthened type to be fitted at the same time as the new pivot pins. (14) The thrust race in the rear axle should be changed to a steel one. | ||
