Y3066 To BJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to AV. c. to EY. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG24.12.26. STANDARDISATION SHEETS: Y3066 X3993 Replying to BJ3/M121.12.26. When My. receives a standardisation sheet for the cost of a new part, we assume he will add the cost of the jigs and tools which are scrapped. We understand however that it will cause a certain amount of delay to obtain this information. If so, we recommend the standardisation sheet is not held up for this, but that this information is sent through later. It might be considered useful for this information to be incorporated on a special sheet issued by EY. after the standardisation of a new part has been agreed to technically. It would contain the following information :- (1) The number of the first chassis on which the new part will be fitted. (2) Date when the chassis will be handed to test. (3) Cost of scrapped material, if any. (4) Cost of scrap jigs and tools. We think that if this was made a regular practice, it would then make it clear to R.{Sir Henry Royce} and other officials when the new parts which had been agreed to would be fitted to the car and might save some of the criticism we sometimes get that it takes too long to get the parts on the car.
