Contd. -3- EFC2/T29.11.21. 1. 40/36's (coloured red) suitable for carrying the smaller currents, e.g. ignition, Klaxon, head, side and tail connections. 2. 70/36's (coloured blue) for carrying the main dynamo and battery currents. 3. 84/28's (coloured black) suitable for the heavy current connections from the battery to the starter switch and from the starting switch to the motor. It will be noted by Mr. Robinson that on the C.A.V. starter switch, provision is made for the attachment of the light current wire from battery to ammeter, but unless this presents a great advantage mechanically in fixing up the wiring scheme, it is really better to take the wire from the battery to the ammeter all the way independently of the heavy current conductor, so that the ignition shall not suffer the loss of volts in this conductor at the time of using the starter motor. If the D.O. can make a rough estimate of the amount of wire required for the six chassis, this would enable us to say whether the amount in stock would be sufficient, the wire referred to being, of course, unarmoured wire suitable for carrying in conduits. The two rough diagrams will indicate the sizes of the various conductors. EFC. | ||
