1021 Rmm/EAG.1/RH.{R. Hollingworth} 10th June, 1941. Messrs. Weathershields Ltd., Moor Street, BIRMINGHAM. Attention Mr. Clements. Dear Mr. Clements, This confirms our telephone conversation of this morning with reference to the charge of seven guineas for the sliding roof fittings which you made for us, and which I consider is excessive. I appreciate that the tray had to be specially made and that the channel slides at the rear were not to your standard. apart from this, the other fittings were standard. The general finish of the tray was extremely rough and not to our drawing; the ramps were in a different position to that shown by us; the edges of the channelling were burred which, as you will appreciate, would quickly wear the felts. The fittings which were supplied to be attached to the sliding panel, were as your standard, and not suitable for use with channel slides. The locking bar for centre of the roof was not rust proofed. My reason for not advising your people before of these faults was that under the circumstances, they were points which we could correct, but on receipt of your account for the work done, I felt compelled to get in touch with you rather than pass it over and feel dissatisfied, but as you have promised to take the matter up with the people concerned, I look forward to hearing from you to the effect that some adjustment has been made. Yours faithfully, | ||
