R.R. 23B B (200 T) (S.E. 527, 21-2-18) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2129 R.{Sir Henry Royce} from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} C. Ormerod. C. EFC RECEIVED RE CAR LIGHTING. USE OF HALF-WATT LAMPS. December 4. 1918. BY1/P41218. X.3374 X.1357 We have taken up the question as to whether Half-watt lamps are a marketable proposition or not, with two or three firms. The C.A.V. reply, which I give below, is a fair summary of the position from which you will note that there appears to be no reason why Half-watt lamps should not be used on chassis work generally. "In reply to your letter of the 23rd inst., we have pleasure in enclosing herewith copy of our Booklet on Half-watt and metal filament bulbs. With regard to the life of these bulbs, the burning life is not quite so long as with the standard metal filament bulb, but the filament itself does not suffer from vibration so much as in the standard type. The average life of these bulbs is considerably over 100 burning hours. Particulars will be found on Page 28". BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
